Albertine Martineau

With heartfelt sadness, we announce the passing of our beautiful mom, Albertine (Bertie) on Thursday February 17, 2022 at Nipissing Serenity Hospice with family and friends by her side.
Albertine (née Lacroix) was born on July 08, 1941 in Ramore, Ontario and later moved to Toronto, Ontario when her father took a job at Goodyear. She met her husband, Rogers Martineau, at Paroisse du Sacre-Coeur in Toronto where they were married on July 02, 1960.
Predeceased by her husband Rogers, in September 2007. Much loved mother of Sonia (Bruce Doan), Benoit (Remedios) and Normand. Beloved friend to Daniel Labelle (Judy Anderson).
Cherished grandmother of Normand (Austin Daemon), Joseph, Chantal (Cody Rimmer), Dale Tangalin, John Tangalin, Allishia (Kevin Hazzard) and Renée (Brandon Masini).
Great grandmother of Clyde and Cayden Rimmer, Audrey and Paisley Hazzard, Maliyah and Lorenzo Masini.
Dear sister to Therese (Bob Burrell), Marguerite (Ron Haines), Claude (Helen Sheward) and André Lacroix Predeceased by her father Gérard, mother Yvette (née Voyer), and brothers Philippe, Marcel (Monique Bolduc) and Maurice (Brenda Thomas).
Albertine lived in Mississauga from 1965 – 1989 where she worked for 22 years with Miracle Food Mart. In 1984, they purchased a home in Lavigne, Ontario, where she lived for 37 years.
For years, Albertine volunteered at the Royal Canadian Legion with the Women’s Auxiliary and helped when it came time for the sale of Poppy Donations. She also volunteered with the Canadian Cancer Society canvassing for donations during Cancer month. Albertine was very active with the Golden Age Club working the door when there were functions and doing crafts for their Craft and Bake sales. She loved to play Texas Horseshoes and Shuffleboard. She was also an ace when it came to card games.
She loved visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will deeply miss visiting her in Lavigne, ingredients in hand, so that she could help us make her famous tourtières.
We would like to thank Dr Hailey Moore and all the staff at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice who treated her with kindness and compassion during the short period of time she was there.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 7, at 11:00 a.m. at the Faith Gospel Tabernacle, 140 Salvation Rd., Brampton, ON, L7A 0W7 followed by burial at the Fairview Cemetery, 20 Cobblehill Rd., Acton, ON, L7J 1N9 at 12:45 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice would be greatly appreciated.

C’est avec une profonde tristesse, nous annonçons le décès de notre belle maman, Albertine (Bertie) le jeudi 17 février 2022 au Nipissing Serenity Hospice avec sa famille et ses amis à ses côtés.
Albertine (née Lacroix) est née le 8 juillet 1941 à Ramore, en Ontario, et a ensuite déménagée à Toronto, en Ontario, lorsque son père a pris un emploi chez Goodyear. Elle a rencontré son mari, Rogers Martineau, à la Paroisse du Sacré-Coeur à Toronto où ils se sont mariés le 02 juillet 1960.
Prédécédée par son époux Rogers, en septembre 2007. Mère bien-aimée de Sonia (Bruce Doan), Benoit (Remedios) et Normand. Ami bien-aimé de Daniel Labelle (Judy Anderson).
Grand-mère chérie de Normand (Austin Daemon), Joseph, Chantal (Cody Rimmer), Dale Tangalin, John Tangalin, Allishia (Kevin Hazzard) et Renée (Brandon Masini).
Arrière-grand-mère de Clyde et Cayden Rimmer, Audrey et Paisley Hazzard, Maliyah et Lorenzo Masini.
Chère soeur de Thérèse (Bob Burrell), Marguerite (Ron Haines), Claude (Helen Sheward) et André Lacroix. Prédécédée par son père Gérard, sa mère Yvette (née Voyer) et ses frères Philippe, Marcel (Monique Bolduc) et Maurice (Brenda Thomas).
Albertine a vécu à Mississauga de 1965 à 1989 où elle a travaillé pendant 22 ans au Miracle Food Mart. En 1984, ils ont acheté une maison à Lavigne, en Ontario, où elle a vécu pendant 37 ans.
Pendant des années, Albertine était bénévole à la Légion royale canadienne avec l'Auxiliaire féminin et faisait la vente de coquelicots. Elle a également fait du bénévolat auprès de la Société canadienne du cancer pour solliciter des dons pendant le mois du cancer. Albertine était très active avec le Club d’Age d’Or, travaillant à la porte lorsqu'il y avait des réceptions et faisant de l'artisanat pour leurs ventes d'artisanat et de pâtisseries. Elle aimait jouer au Texas Horseshoes et au Shuffleboard. Elle était aussi un ace des jeux de cartes.
Elle aimait les visites de ses petits-enfants et arrière-petits-enfants. Aller la visiter à Lavigne, les ingrédients en main, pour qu'elle puisse nous aider à confectionner ses fameuses tourtières nous manquera profondément.
Nous tenons à remercier le Dr Hailey Moore et tout le personnel du Nipissing Serenity Hospice qui l'a traitée avec gentillesse et compassion pendant son séjour.
Un service funéraire aura lieu le lundi 7 mars à 11h00 au Faith Gospel Tabernacle, 140 Salvation Rd., Brampton, ON, L7A 0W7 suivi de l'inhumation au cimetière Fairview, 20 Cobblehill Rd., Acton, ON, L7J 1N9 à 12h45
