Dignard, Armande (née Gour) October 2nd, 1938 - July 11th, 2020
The family announces with sadness and sorrow her death in Sturgeon Falls on Saturday, July 11th, 2020 at the age of 81 years. Daughter of the late Edgar Gour and of the late Germaine Gour (née Poulin). Devoted wife of Fernand Dignard for 62 years. Loving mother of Nicole Whynott (Mark), Gaston (late Denise) (Lorianne), Carole Ouellet (late Serge)(Yolland), Louise Constantineau (Tony) and Sylvie Delorme (Darren). Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her 12 grandchildren: Christiane Colard (Calvin), Vincent Whynott (Meaghen), Clifford Dignard, Jean-Marc Dignard (Angela), Ricky Boisvenue, Christopher Boisvenue (Sandra), Stephanie Ouellet (Jon), Vanessa Ouellet, Amber Constantineau (Sebastien), Adam Constantineau, Paige Delorme and Marissa Delorme. She was also a special great-memere to her 10 great-grandchildren: Simon, Jeremy and Adele Colard, Zoey, Logan and Hannah Whynott, Jaxanna, Zaydiance and Kailyssa Dignard and Jacob Boisvenue. Dear sister of Louise Macphee (late Robert), Lucille Philion (late Jean) and Jean Guy (Anne Marie. Predeceased by her siblings Laurent, Laurette, Richard and Royal.
Throughout her year-long battle with cancer, Armande kept her spirits high, never complained and always had a smile on her face.
Armande and Fernand were lifelong residents of the area; having both been raised in St.Charles and Sturgeon Falls. They raised their family in Markstay and were active members of the community.
Armande was active in the ladies auxiliary where her baking was always in demand. She was also the rural mail delivery person for over 25 years and enjoyed meeting people on her route. She leaves behind many traditions and special dishes that her family enjoyed at Christmas, birthdays and other special occasions.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nursing staff at the West Nipissing General Hospital as well as Stephane of VON and all the homecare ladies for their compassionate care.
The family will receive friends at St. Mark's Church, Markstay, on Saturday July 25th, 2020 after 8:30am. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9am. Cremation arrangements in care of Theoret Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls.
