The family announces with sorrow his death in Sturgeon Falls, Sunday January 8, 2023 at the age of 79 years. Son of the late Andries and of the late Geertje (née Jurna) Haarsma. Beloved husband of Lise (née Leblanc). Loving father of Tina Brunet (Yvon), Kim Lefebvre (Paul), and Trevor (Sima). Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren François, Alexandre, Dominik, Julianne, and his great-grandchildren Benjamin and Charlotte. Dear brother of Sietske Dijkman (late Albert), Ida Sauvé (Edward), Maria Keding (Klaus), Ray (Nancy), Linda Turcot (Richard), Aggie Parr (Jack), Margriet Haarsma, Joanne Geertz (late Andy), Jeannette Levasseur (Robert), Deborah Minners (John), and Patricia Ranta (late Reijo). The family will receive friends at the Theoret-Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls, on Monday, January 16 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, January 17, at the Sacré-Coeur Church, Sturgeon Falls at 11:00 a.m. Funeral arrangements in care of the Theoret-Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls. Donations to the Canadian Heart and Stroke or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
