C’est avec un profond chagrin que la famille Giguère vous annonce son décès survenu le jeudi 21 mai 2020 à l’âge de 82 ans. Fils de feu René Giguère et de feu Florida Rainville. Époux bien-aimé de Claire Giguère (née Rainville) de Sturgeon Falls. Père de feu Jocelyne Carrière (Jean-Marc), Diane Schoppmann (Paul) de St. Charles, Lyne Larose (Marcel) de Noëlville, Denise Giguère (Ronald Malley) de Hanmer, Robert Giguère de Cache Bay, Carmen Beaudry (France) de Verner et de Réjean Giguère (Manon) de Warren.



Lui survivent également son frère et ses sœurs Annette Ferris (Jack) de North Bay, Fernande Tremblay (Claude) de Brampton, France Giguère (Jeanne) de Sturgeon Falls, et Bernadette Price (Joe) (feu Richard Leblanc) d’Orangeville. Prédécédé par sa sœur Rachelle Brouillette (Normand). Son souvenir restera gravé dans la mémoire de ses petits-enfants Cynthia Schoppmann (Jean Marc Cousineau), Heinz Schoppmann (Amy), Pascale Larose (Brian Bourque), Anique Larose-Hogan (Benoit Hogan), François Larose (Sandra Leroux), Philippe Larose (Melissa Therrien), Robert Filion (Rob Smart), Françine Fournier (Dave), Olivia Beaudry (Marc St-Onge), Christian Beaudry (Celina Hockley), Dominique Charbonneau (Benoit), Gabrielle Giguère (Steven Hepburn), Émilie Giguère, Renée-Claude Giguère ainsi que ses 17 arrières petits-enfants et son 18ieme en chemin.



Marié à son épouse Claire depuis plus de 62 ans, Claude exploita une ferme laitière située sur le chemin Levac pendant plus de 35 ans. Il œuvra à différentes causes qui lui tenaient à cœur tel que le groupe de parents de l’École Ste Thérèse d’Avila, directeur de la Coopérative Régional de Verner, conseiller scolaire catholique, bénévole à la paroisse Ste Thérèse d’Avila à Cache Bay, bénévole à la chapelle Au Château, Chevalier de Colomb au 4ème degré de Sturgeon Falls.



Il était un homme fier, déterminé, dévoué à sa famille, et à sa foi en Dieu. Il aimait rendre services aux autres, jaser, chanter des chansons à répondre et danser. Claude nous lègue son amour inconditionnel ainsi que sa joie de vivre.



Par cause de maladie, Claude résidait depuis quelques temps à l’hôpital de North Bay. La famille voudrait remercier tous les gens qui furent impliqués de près ou de loin aux soins exceptionnels qui lui ont été donnés.



Respectant les ordonnances civiles, la famille recevra parents et amis au Salon Funéraire Théoret Bourgeois, Sturgeon Falls, Mardi soir de 19h à 21h. On Thursday May 21st, 2020, Claude Giguère, holding the hand of the love of his life, passed away at the age of 82. Predeceased by his parents René Giguère and Florida Rainville. Beloved husband of Claire Giguère (Rainville) of Sturgeon Falls. Father of the late Jocelyne Carrière (Jean-Marc), Diane Schoppmann (Paul) of St. Charles, Lyne Larose (Marcel) of Noëlville, Denise Giguère (Ron Malley) of Hanmer, Robert Giguère of Cache Bay, Carmen Beaudry (France) of Verner, Réjean Giguère (Manon) of Warren.

Also survived by his brother and sisters, Annette Ferris (Jack) of North Bay, Fernande Tremblay (Claude) of Brampton, France Giguère (Jeanne) of Sturgeon Falls, Bernadette Price (Joe) (feu Richard Leblanc) of Orangeville, and the late Rachelle Brouillette (Normand).



Cherished Pépère to Cynthia Schoppmann (Jean-Marc Cousineau), Heinz Schoppmann (Amy), Pascale Larose (Brian Bourque), Anique Hogan-Larose (Benoit Hogan), François Larose (Sandra Leroux), Philippe Larose (Melissa Therrien), Francine Fournier (Dave), Robert Filion (Rob Smart), Olivia Beaudry (Marc St. Onge), Christian Beaudry (Celina Hockley), Dominique Charbonneau (Benoit), Gabrielle Giguère (Steven Hepburn), Émilie Giguère, Renée-Claude Giguère, and 17 great-grandchildren and his 18th on the way.



Married to his wife Claire for over 62 years, Claude was proud to have operated a dairy farm for more than 35 years. He was also proud to be able to serve his community, most notably: as a member of the École Ste Thérèse d’Avila parent council, as Director of the Regional Coopérative of Verner, as a Catholic School Board Trustee, as a 4th Degree member for the Knights of Columbus in Sturgeon Falls, and as a volunteer at the Parish of Ste Thérèse d’Avila and at the Chapel at Au Château. Claude was devoted to his family and God. He enjoyed lending a hand to help others and couldn't help but dance and sing when listening to French Canadian folk songs. Claude leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and his passion of life.



Due to changes in his health, Claude had been residing at the North Bay Hospital. The family would like to thank all healthcare workers who provided exceptional and compassionate care over the last couple of years.



In respecting the civil order, the family will receive family and friends at the Funeral Home of Théoret Bourgeois, Sturgeon Falls, Tuesday evening from 7pm to 9pm.
