Rodgers, Frances (born Simms) 1932 – 2022
The family of Frances Agnes Rodgers announces her peaceful passing into the presence of the Lord on June 10, 2022 at the age of 89 years after a long illness.
Frances was born and raised in Loring, Ontario and lived most of her life in Sudbury where she raised her family. She was the loving and devoted wife of Ivan Rodgers who died in 1999. She was a wonderful mother to Randy (Evelyn), Greg (Susie), and Patti Gervais (Marcel Gagnon). Sadly missed and fondly remembered by her grandchildren Andrew, Elizabeth (Andrew), Rachel (Jonathan), David (Jessica), Scott (Stephanie), Ian (Julie), and Sara. She was delighted to have been blessed with five great-grandchildren Tristan, Avery, Marcus, Lydia, and Reid. She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Marion Cottrill (late Mervyn) and Beverly Parker (Ross) as well as her many nieces and nephews who cherished their “Aunt Francie”. She also leaves behind her loving sister-in-law Lois Smith (Ron).
She was the beloved daughter of the late Reinhold and the late Ruby (born Van Meer) Simms. Predeceased by her brother Robert Simms, sister-in-law Margaret Ann Simms, and her brother-in-law Mervyn Cottrill. In her final days she found joy in knowing she would soon be reunited with them.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the staff at the Westmont Retirement Home, St. Joseph’s Villa, ICAN, and the extraordinary PSW’s and other medical staff at the Au Chateau Home for the Aged, Sturgeon Falls, for their compassionate care during her two years there. God Bless you!
The family will receive friends at the Theoret-Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls on Friday, June 17 for visitation from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by a celebration of life in the funeral home chapel. Donations to the Au Chateau Home for the Aged would be greatly appreciated.
