Obituary for James Roberts

Roberts, James "Jim" (1943 - 2021)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jim Roberts on January 23rd, 2021, days shy of his 78th birthday.

Broken-hearted are Evelyn Knupfer, Nick Knupfer, Gus & Carol Protopapas, Jennifer Stephens, Paul McCarthy, Ann McCarthy, and Jeanette & Norman Marshall.

Predeceased are his father: James Roberts Sr and his mother: Ruth Divelbiss (Nashville, Tenn).
Jim had a zest for life, evidenced in all his talents, from making engines purr, to reviving pastures into golf fairways, to playing piano in his later years, as if he had been playing all his life. An outdoorsman, a lover of nature, a fisherman.

Most of all, to being a supportive and caring man, with boundless energy and curiosity.

Jim leaves behind many wonderful friends, especially ones he met when he moved to Lavigne to enjoy his retirement years in this beautiful part of the world. They admired the courage and determination with which he lived everyday.

His friends also saw his love and admiration for his best friend and soul mate, his partner in adventure and goof off days and the love of his life. A woman he respected too much to marry and who was always by his side.

There remains a luscious kaleidoscope of shared moments, shared sights, shared meals, engaged discussions, laughter, some sadness, but always so alive.

Do not weep for me, I do not sleep,
• I am a thousand winds that blow
• I am the diamond glints in the snow
• I am the sunlight on luscious yards of grass
• I am the gentle autumn’s rain
• I am the soft stars that shine at night
Remember me and smile.

Donations to the West Nipissing General Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
