Gilchrist, June (née Ferguson) 1928 – 2022
It is with great sorrow, that the family announces her death in Sturgeon Falls, Wednesday November 9, 2022 at the age of 94 years. Born to the late Robert and Frances (née Bond) Ferguson, in Mindemoya, ON. Beloved wife of the late Ernie (predeceased 1982). Loving mother of Ann Cunningham and Gary (Carole). Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Daniel (Jennifer), Scott (Kelly), Ryan (Cassandra), Megan (Kenny), Alex and her great-grandchildren Emilie, Imogen, Zoë, Hazel, Norra, Theo, Violet, and Ava. Predeceased by her brothers Robert Jr. and Donald (Carolyn).
June was a graduate of St Elizabeth School of Nursing , class of 1950 and spent her career at the Sudbury Algoma Hospital. Besides her “perfect” grandchildren and great grandchildren her passion was travelling the world and spending time at her cottage in Providence Bay. The family wishes to thank all the staff of the Au Chateau for the wonderful care provided and to Dr Henstridge for his compassionate care.
A private service will be held by the family in her memory. Funeral arrangements in care of the Theoret-Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls. Donations to the Au Chateau, Sturgeon Falls or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
