Commanda, Lorraine "Girlie" (née Penasse) 1946 - 2022
The family announces she passed away peacefully at her home in Garden Village, Friday October 21, 2022 at the age of 76 years. Daughter of the late Kenneth and of the late Matilda (née Stevens) Penasse. Beloved wife of the late Alexander. Dear mother of Jane Commanda (Marc), Theresa Commanda (Bruce), Rhonda Beaudette (Randy), Chris (Henrietta), Lindsay Commanda (Ben), and Shelley Commanda. Predeceased by her son Mike. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and her many nieces and nephews. Dear sister of Liz Hazell (Mike), Stella Solomon (Robert), Luke (Diane), Andy (April), and Connie Leslie (Gord). Predeceased by her brother Michael and her sisters Mary Jane Beaucage (late David) and Dorothy. Lorraine loved her family, her kids, fishing, fish fry cooking and the Blue Jays but especially her favorite sports team, the Montreal Canadians. The family will receive friends at the Theoret-Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls on Sunday, October 23 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A celebration of life will follow at a later date.
