Luella Annie Purcell (née Malott) April 26th, 1918 -Wednesday, June 3rd, 2020

Luella Annie Purcell passed peacefully on June 3, 2020 at St. Gabriel’s Villa in Chelmsford where she had resided for the last five years and received excellent care. Luella was born April 26, 1918 in Essex County in Southern Ontario and was the daughter of the late Ernest Malott and the late Agnes Malott (Campbell), who passed away when Luella was four years old. Following this, she gained a wonderful stepmother Mabel Malott (MacPherson). She moved with her family to Monetville in 1934 and soon after married Robert Stewart Purcell. They lived their lives in Monetville, Robert passing away in 1991. Luella is survived by her three children: Ernie Purcell and wife Carolyn of Oakville Ontario, Audrey Johnson (husband Albert pre-deceased) of Flat Rock Michigan, Edith Carriere and husband Jacques of Monetville. She is survived by her grandchildren: Paul Purcell (Darlene) of Oakville, Curt Purcell (Margo) of Calgary, Alberta, Lorne Stevens (Lise) of Garden Village, Lana St-Louis (Daniel) of Sturgeon Falls, Remi Carriere of Fort McMurray, Alberta, and Robert Carriere (Julie) of Alban. She is survived by her great-grandchildren: Michaela Purcell and Veronica Purcell, Liam Purcell and Harry Purcell, Ryan Stevens and Tristan Stevens, Ava St-Louis and Peyton St-Louis, Caleb Carriere and Averie Carriere, Desiree Carriere & Dimitri Carriere & Danique Carriere as well as by one great-great grandchild Landyn Stevens. Survived by her siblings Murray Malott of Chelmsford (late Rose-Marie), Carl Malott of Sudbury (late Gail), Elma Daoust of Sudbury (late Irmand) and Herb Malott (Connie) of Sudbury. Predeceased by her siblings Burwell Malott (late Ellen), Harry Malott (late Lill), Ivan Malott (late Jeannine), Everett Malott (late Emma), Milton Malott, Marian Bertrand (late Arthur) and Carolyn Taggart (late Angus). She is also predeceased by her siblings-in-law Alice Chamberlain (late Jack), Duncan Purcell (late Grace), William Purcell (late Jeanne), Mary Linden (late Carl), Charlie Purcell (late Ella), Florence Allen (late Charlie) and Ellen Malott (late Burwell). Cremation arrangements in care of Theoret Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls. A memorial celebration of life will be held in Monetville at a later date.
