La famille a le regret de vous annoncer son décès survenu à Sturgeon Falls, le vendredi 27 janvier à l’âge de 79 ans. Fils de feu Médord et feu Mona (née Charrette). Frère de Raymonde Gagnon (Eugene), Luc, Lise Merkel (Harry), Gaston et Denis. Prédécédé par son frère Michel (Barbara). Son souvenir restera gravé dans la mémoire de ses neveux et nièces Kingsley, Cheyenne, Danny, Jason, Francine, Norman, Robert, Sylvie, Lynn, Angèle ainsi que ses arrière-neveux est nièces. On apprécie l’aide et le support qu’ils ont donné à Marcel surtout dans sa dernière année. Marcel était un homme de peu de mots. Son regard et son sourire exprimaient bien sa paix profonde et son bien-être. Un ouvrier hors-pair, habile et utile avec ses mains, Marcel pouvait bâtir, construire ou rénover quoique ce soit. Sa compréhension et sa vision d’un projet lui donnait l’avantage d’avancer son travail sans consulter ni questionner. Le résultat final était toujours parfait. Ce qu’il n’exprimait pas en parole se réalisait par l’œuvre de ses mains. Une célébration de vie sera annoncée à une date ultérieure. Un remerciement de tout cœur est adressé a Dr. Pitre et l'équipe des soins palliatif de l’Hôpital Général de Nipissing Ouest. Que vos témoignages de condoléances se traduisent en dons à la Société Canadienne du Cancer. Les arrangements sont confiés au Salon Funéraire Théorêt-Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls.
The family announces with sorrow his death in Sturgeon Falls, Friday January 27, 2023 at the age of 79 years. Son of the late Médord and of the late Mona (née Charrette). Brother of Raymonde Gagnon (Eugene), Luc, Lise Merkel (Harry), Gaston, and Denis. Predeceased by his brother Michel (Barbara). Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews Kingsley, Cheyenne, Danny, Jason, Francine, Norman, Robert, Sylvie, Lynn, Angèle as well as his great-nieces and nephews. We appreciated the help and support that they gave Marcel especially in his last year. Marcel was a man of few words. His look and his smile was enough to express his profound inner peace and contentedness. An experienced contractor, carpenter, and general handy man, Marcel could build, fix, or renovate just about any building. His understanding and vision gave him the ability to build and finish any project without question or consultation. The results were always perfect. What he couldn’t express with words would always translate through his work. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Pitre and the team at the palliative care department at the West Nipissing General Hospital.
