Arbour, Marcellin (1930 - 2020)


The family announces with sorrow his death in Barrie, Saturday October 17, 2020 at the age of 89 years. Son of the late Albert Arbour and of the late Laurencia (née Poirier) Arbour. Loving husband of the late Emilienne (née Mayer) Arbour. Dear father of Marc (Judy) of Cottam, Carole Ouimette (Paul) of Barrie, Sylvie Labelle (Ivan) of Oshawa, Louise Rainville (Marc) of Georgetown, Lise Arbour (Scott) of Mississauga, and Marcellin Jr. (Dianne) of Utopia. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Also survived by his brothers Victor, Jean-Paul (Estelle) both of Lavigne and by his sister Lorraine Cosgrove (Hughey) of North Bay. Predeceased by his siblings Ernest, Yvette, Edgar, Emériand, Anita, Blanche, Sinaï, Berthé, and Dollard. Marcellin was retired from Inco (Vale) after over 30 years of service and went on to work for Kelly Lake Lumber in Sudbury for many years before retiring in Lavigne. Due to COVID and limits of people put in place, the family will have a private mass of Christian Burial at the Notre-Dame-de-la-Visitation Church in Lavigne on Monday, November 2nd, at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements in care of the Theoret-Bourgeois Funeral Home.

Our condolences go out to Marcel's family. He was such a nice man. I always enjoyed our chats when he would come to visit.
He will be missed by his family and friends. Rest in Peace.

Nos sympathies à toute la famille
Je me rappelle de bons souvenirs quand toute la famille arrivait de Sudbury chez pepère et memère Arbour.
J'ai eu la chance de lui dire bonjour au Concours de labour à Verner l'automne passé. Il était en forme et nous a raconté quelques vieilles histoires de ferme et tracteur de son jeune temps.
