Obituary for Mike McCrodan

Michael John "Mike" McCrodan, of Verner, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday February 28, 2021. He was 55.

Born in Mississauga, Ontario on September 23, 1965 to Judith Ann Saunders (nee Leigh) and the late John Patrick McCrodan. Better known to everyone as Mike, he was employed as a Welder. He loved his job, family, and friends, and was always up for a good time. Mike was an adventurous man with a love for the outdoors and an inspiration for living in harmony with nature. He spent his leisure time camping, exploring the bush on his ATV, and ice-fishing with his good friend Don and Gertie (Don’s dog). In his earlier days, Mike had a passion for kayaking and frequently brought his brother Glenn along on his kayaking trips.

Sadly, missed and lovingly remembered by his mother Judy Saunders and stepfather John Saunders, and his stepmother Diane McCrodan. Brother of Leigh McCrodan, Stephen McCrodan (Heather), and Glenn Saunders (Kim). Stepbrother of Trish Cameron (Jeremy), Beverly Granger (Brian), Lyn Dewar (Brian), and Melissa Dolson. Mike will always have a special place in the hearts of his nieces and nephews: Chance McCrodan, Madison Cameron, Ben McCrodan, and Autumn Saunders. Fondly remembered by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and his incredible and supportive circle of friends.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date where his family and friends can gather and share stories of the many special times spent with Mike.

Memorial donations to the Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Theoret Bourgeois Funeral Home, Verner.
