Obituary for Raymond Pitre

RAYMOND PITRE
November 30th, 1946 – May 8th, 2022

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond “Ray” Pitre on May 8th, 2022 at the age of 75 after a battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Beloved husband of Noëlla (Proulx) of which he shared 55 years of marriage. Loving father of Sylvie (Jorge Amaral) of Collingwood and Guy (Sherri-Lynn Pharand) of Sudbury. Cherished grandfather of Julie of British Columbia, Sylvain of Collingwood and Quéline of Sudbury.
Ray was the son of Oscar and Annette (Séguin) both predeceased. Survived by his sister Huguette (Richard Goegan) of Wasaga Beach, André (Kathy Mercer) of Noëlville and Bernard (Sylvianne Cardinal) of Lavigne. Predeceased by his sisters Alice (Pierre Brais), Rita (Ron McKinnon predeceased) Maurice (Ghislaine Nadeau). He will be truly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Ray enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and logging and towards the end took up bird watching. He devoted many hours volunteering for the Knights of Columbus, Rod and Gun Club of Noëlville /Sturgeon Falls.
He had a strong passion for horses, which he used for his second love of maple syrup farming and horse logging.
Friends and family will remember the many sleigh rides during Christmas and New Year’s.
Raymond worked in many various fields of employment such as construction, mining, logging, farming and Heavy Equipment. E.B. Eddy Forests Products / Camp 12 will remember his focus on production and safety.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the St. David Church Hall in Noëlville on Saturday, June 18th, 2022 from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. followed by a mass at the St. David’s Church at 1:00 p.m. Funeral Arrangements in care of Theoret Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls.
