Moon, Sherly A. (nee Brown)

With very heavy hearts and great sadness, the Moon family announces a peaceful passing, a week after her 95th birthday in Stoney Creek, Hamilton.

Survived by children Greg (Ginny) of Binbrook, Hamilton, John (Marilyn) of Long Lake, Englehart and Pamela (Jerry Gascon) of Kitchener. Also survived by seven grandchildren and their spouses, six great-grandchildren, many, many nieces / nephews and their extended families.

Predeceased by parents Joseph W. Brown and Agnes Brown (nee Brunet), husband A. Douglas Moon (1991), daughter Jennifer (2018) (Gilles Labelle) of Hanover, and, all 13 siblings.

Born in Mackeys Station, ON and raised in Sturgeon Falls, Sherly was a great mom, who provided positive support in every way she could.

Community activities included achieving Life Member status in the Ladies Auxiliary, Royal Canadian Legion in Sturgeon Falls, being an avid curler in the ladies section of the Sturgeon Falls Granite Club, and, driving school bus for many years with Nipissing Bus Lines.

In keeping with personal wishes, cremation has occurred and there will neither be a visitation or church funeral service.

Interment will be at Union Cemetery, Sturgeon Falls at a later date.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled at the Royal Canadian Legion, 201 River St., Sturgeon Falls, on Saturday November 20, 2021, from 1 - 4:00 p.m., subject to Ontario / Royal Canadian Legion COVID-19 protocol.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to your local Legion Branch Poppy Fund, CNIB (cnib.donor portal.ca), Canadian Alzheimer Society (alzheimer.ca), or, the Heart and Stroke Foundation (hsf.donorportal.ca), would be appreciated.
