The family announces with sorrow her death in North Bay, Sunday, September 6th, 2020 at the age of 91 years. Daughter of the late Cecil Proud and of the late Rose Proud (née Walsh). Loving wife of the late Fred McDonald. Dear mother of Elaine Van Mierlo and Arley Dowe (Elaine). Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren James, Wade, Stephen, Jennifer and Bobby as well as her great-grandchildren Destiny, Alexis, Caidence, Cody, Julia, Brooke and Makayla. Sister of Bert (Gloria), Murray (Carol) and Sandy (Al). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sisters Helen (Dick) and Betty (late Gavin). Shirley's favorite pastimes included Euchre, darts and bowling. Cremation arrangements in care of Theoret Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
