Obituary for Urgel Lafantaisie
Urgel (Bine) Lafantaisie November 18, 1942 – August 21, 2022
It is with deep sadness that the family announces his passing in his 79th year at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on August 21, 2022 surrounded by his 3 daughters and his beloved wife. Urgel was a former employee of KVP, Lands and Forest and Electrolux Canada.
Son of the late René Lafantaisie and Ethel (Major) Lafantaisie. He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife Monique Lafantaisie (Serré), his children; Luc Lafantaisie, Linda Lafantaisie Renaud (Laurent Jr), Julie Mazerolle (Jason Blair), Nathalie LaPorte (Derick), his daughter in law Paula and his fur baby Louis that he adored.
Grandfather to; Crystal-Lynn (Jesse), Zackary (Vanessa), Brandon (Ashley), Brianne (Kyle), Martine (Eric), Riley, Kody (Emma), Kassidy and James.
Great grandfather to; Norah, Zoey, Reece, Levi and Chloe
Brother to Germain (Jocelyne), Lorraine (Lynon), Ghislaine (deceased Michel), Micheline (Bob), Diane (Guy). Predeceased by his dear siblings; Yvon (Irene), Robert (Juliette), Rheo, Jeannot and baby sister Laurette.
In the last two weeks of this life, he told us many times how he adored his wife and how proud he was of his children and his grandchildren. He left this earth knowing how proud we were to be in his life and how much we all loved him dearly. He also demonstrated a different comical side of himself to us and the staff of the C1 Stroke Unit at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. Our family truly appreciates the care, compassion and respect that he received on this special unit especially to Dr. Jena and his two favorite nurses; Mike and Dyllan. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the North Bay Regional Health Centre c/o C1 Stroke Unit would be appreciated.
As per his wishes, no funeral or service will be held.
