With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of a great man, Normand Noel, at the age of 55 years, on Tuesday, July 23, 2013. He was a loving husband to Denise for 25 years. Norm will be greatly missed by his father, Marcel Noel (friend Jeanine). He is now reunited with his mother, Lucille Noel (Guerin) and brother Gilles. Norm was cherished by his siblings, Yvonne Laub (Mike), Yvette Rochefort (Robert), Alice Menard (Roger), Helene Noel (George), Isabelle Noel (Leo) and Daniel Noel. Denise`s parents, Zeal and Albertine Lamarche, and her siblings, Michel (Francine), Albert, Rheal and Gilbert (predeceased) Lamarche loved him greatly. Norm will be missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be remembered with many fond memories and laughs. To know Norm was to love him. He was always ready to tell a story, eat dessert, help a friend and start a project. Norm cherished his time at camp with Denise, the dogs and friends. He loved to be in the bush. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his dad. Norm was a shop teacher at École Secondaire Cité-Supérieure in Marathon, where he was adored by the students and staff. He was a special teacher in and out of the classroom, and he was involved in many extracurricular activities promoting the trades and hands-on skills. He was the heart of the school and will be missed by all. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m in Notre Dame Des Victoires Church, Field Ontario. Visitation is from 9:15 to 11:00. Luncheon to follow. A memorial will take place in Marathon at a later date. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the scholarship fund in Norm`s memory in support of the trades would be greatly appreciated (cheques only).
