McAvoy, David 1942-2017
The family announces with sorrow his death in Sturgeon Falls on Tuesday, December 5th, 2017 at the age of 75 years. Loving husband of Mignonne (Shank) McAvoy. Beloved father of the late Jack McAvoy and of Sharon Venne (Maurice). Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Jason and Pierre. Brother of Sandra Gauthier of North Bay. Predeceased by his brother Jimmy McAvoy. David worked in the mines in Sudbury until he became a body man, doing bodywork such as fixing and painting cars, trucks and even buses. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting and was always ready to help others. David had many friends and enjoyed long conversations with them over a glass of beer. He had the biggest unique laugh. David will be sadly missed and forever loved. A private service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements in care of the Théorêt Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls.
