Obituary for Albert St-Louis

Albert St-Louis
Albert Joseph Romeo St-Louis, aged 90, died peacefully on March 30, 2015, at the Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre in Ottawa. Much beloved husband, father, grand-father, brother and uncle, he is survived by his wife, Lina Primeau, two daughters, Celine and Nicole St-Louis, two grand-daughters, Amelie (8) and Genevieve (5) Cotie-St-Louis (all residing in Ottawa), a brother, Fernand St-Louis from Sturgeon Falls, many nieces and nephews and other relatives. Albert was born in Sturgeon Falls on July 31, 1924. He served with the Royal Air Force Bomber Command in Linton-on-Ouse in Yorkshire, England, during the Second World War and was very proud of his military service. For much of his life, he owned "un camp de chasse" in Crystal Falls, Ontario, where family and friends gathered and many happy memories were created. He had a long and rewarding career as a civil servant with the federal government and then a long and contented retirement, during which he painstakingly researched and documented his family history and spent many years enjoying the Florida sunshine. Through thick and thin, Albert maintained a steadfastly positive outlook. His family meant the world to him and he meant the world to his family. We will miss him greatly. He will always be in our hearts and never far from our thoughts. Albert's family is especially thankful to the staff at the Perley for taking such good care of him in the last years of his life, as he battled Alzheimer's disease. Visitations will be held on Thursday, April 2, at the Theoret Bourgeois Funeral Home in Sturgeon Falls (119 King Street) from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and prayers will be held at the home in the chapel on Friday, April 3, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated.
