The family announces with sorrow her death in Sturgeon Falls, Thursday January 10 2013, at the age of 89 years. Daughter of the late Élie Gingras and the late Bernadette (née Vachon) Gingras. Predeceased by her husband Gaëtan “ Pinotte” Poirier. Dear mother of Denise Carré (Claude) of Sudbury, Gisèle Gratton (Claude) of Ottawa. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her 4 grandchildren Geneviève, Adèle, Charles-Étienne and Mélanie. Sister of Hubert Gingras (Hélène) of l’Etang, QC. Predeceased by her sisters Florence Auld (late Len), Yvonne Dupuis (late Frank), Claire Marchand (Bernard of Montréal) and by her brother Gilles Gingras (Laurette of Gatineau). Also survived by her sister-in-law Jacqueline Poirier of Sturgeon Falls. Alice enjoyed playing Euchre and Canasta with her friends affectionately known as club "The Girls". She also loved reading, solving hidden words and spending quality time with her daughters and grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Théorêt Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls, Tuesday January 15 2013 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday January 16, 2013 at 11:00 in Sacré Coeur Church, Sturgeon Falls.
