Matante Claire,
I don't even know where to begin. We all have our questions. Why?, How? When? some of these questions will never be answered. I have so many fond memories of you. You were always a kind, caring aunt. I use to love our monthly talks. I'm sad that they stopped years ago. You loved each and every one of us, especially our children. You loved them like if they were your own. They all loved you and will miss you. I am so proud to have been able to call you my Godmother, and I hope I made you proud. It will be very hard for me to get closure without being able to see you one last time and say goodbye. I will find peace in knowing you are in a good place. God has you in his arms and I will always have you in my heart. I have a beautiful poem I would like to share.
If tears could build a stairway
and thoughts a memory lane
I'd walk right up to heaven
and bring you home again
No farewell words were spoken
no time to say goodbye
You were gone before I knew it
and only god knows why
My hearts still active in sadness
and secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
no one can ever know
But now I know you want us
to mourn for you no more
to remember all the happy times
Life still has so much in store
Since you'll never be forgotten
I pledge to you today
A hallowed place within my heart
is where you'll always stay
I love you matante, until we met again.
Love your god-daughter Chantal xo,xo,xo
