The family announce with sorrow his death in North Bay, Monday April 14th 2014 at the age of 85 years. Son of the late Ernest Goulard and of the late Lucie (née Liard) Goulard. Loving husband of Fernande (née Bertrand) Goulard of North Bay. Dear father of Lise Desjardins (Richard) of Verner, Jocelyne Bryson (Bill), Daniel (Barbara Howard) both of North Bay, Julie Mackenzie (late Kevin) of Chelmsford. Predeceased by his infant daughter Linda. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his 9 grandchildren Edgar, Ann, Tammy, Kimberly, Allain, Jason, Andréa, Amanda, Danielle and by his 7 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by one great-granddaughter Emilie. Brother of Aline Dupras (late Lucien), Marie Goulard both of Sturgeon Falls, Lionel (Dorcina) of North Bay, Florence Legault (Ted) of River Valley. Predeceased by his brothers Lucien, Ovila, Georges, Maurice and by his sisters Lucienne Courchesne and Estelle Dupras. Also remembered by a very close friend of the family Lise Therrien of Sturgeon Falls. Edgar had many passions which included fishing, hunting, camping and enjoying nature. For 21 years he worked at Falconbridge mines and later he worked as maintenance and repairs person at a retirement home. The family will receive friends at Théorêt Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls, Wednesday, April 16th 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday April 17th 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Ste Rose de Lima Church, River Valley. Donations to the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation (palliative care) or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. (cheques only)
