The family announces with sorrow his death in Sturgeon Falls, on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at the age of 84 years old. Son of the late Oswald Lafond and of the late Yvonne (née Legendre) Lafond. Loving husband of Rita (née Beauparlant) Lafond of Verner. Cherished father of Pierre (Berthe Girouard) and Louise Piette (Yvan) both of Azilda, Michel (Catherine Dufresne) of Sturgeon Falls and Monique Desbiens (Charles) of Verner. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Ginette Auger, Julie Findlay, Luc Lafond, Cory Lafond, David Desbiens, Kristine McFarlane, Dominique Piette, Yves Piette and by his great-grandchildren, André Auger, Miguel Auger, Jessie Lafond, Sara Lafond, Gavin Findlay and Tyler Findlay. Dear brother of Jeannine Cotton (late Herman) of North Bay, Jean-Yves (Reine-Aimée Poirier) of Sudbury and Micheline Lafond of Sturgeon Falls. Predeceased by his brother Jacques and by his sister Rolande Lafleur (late Daniel). The family will receive friends at the St Jean-Baptiste Church, Verner, on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 10:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am.
