The family announces with sorrow his death in North Bay, Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the age of 69 years. Son of the late Chester and the late Florence (née McKay) Haggstrom. Husband of the late Doreen Haggstrom (née Lair) and the late Rosemarie Gohr (née Lair). Loving father of Shane of B.C. Dear brother of Alan and family of White Rock, B.C., Joann and George Danyluk, Corinna Hamilton and Tanya all of Midway B.C. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Lydia Gallant of Surrey B.C., Paulette and Eric Gardener, Pauline and Jim Gardener/Clark, Kirk Gardener all of B.C., Joyce Ridley of North Bay, Gail Gohr of Oshawa, Terry and Kim Gohr and family of Whitby. Special thanks to his good friend Eileen Garvey for all the time spent with Gerald. Many thanks and appreciation to V.O.N., Dr. Ng, Dr. Bernstien, Dr. Pearce, Dr. Young, N.B.R.H.C., Sudbury Cancer Centre and Dr. D.L.B Woods of Port Coquitlam, B.C. Gerald was a member of the Veteran Service (RCN) in Halifax. He was a dedicated worker for 23 years as a Longshoreman for the B.C Maritime Employee Association. He had a special place for his loving pets Koby, Elivis and Rosie; they were his heroes. Cremation has taken place.
