The family announces with sorrow his death in Sudbury, Saturday November 26, 2011, at the age of 78 years. Son of the late Saül Racicot and the late Philomène (née Gauthier) Racicot. Predeceased by his wife late Lorraine Racicot. Loving father of Suzanne Racicot-predeceased (Phillip Bernier), Gisèle Boutot (Thomas), Marc-predeceased and Raymond (Pauline) all of Sudbury and Daniel (Gina) of Vancouver. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Christine Warwick (Eric) of Buckingham, PQ, Stéfan Méthot (Jennifer), Tammy Breit (Keith) both of Sudbury and Marc Vincent (Deborah) of Aylmer, PQ and his great-grandchildren Tyler, Owen, Gabriel, Alexander and Nathan. Survived by his sisters Marianne Bourdon (Laurier) of Sudbury, Lina Champigny (Lorenzo) of Tedford Mines, PQ and his brother Alphonse (Diane) of Sudbury. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Gérard worked for 37 years as a Plant Protection and First Aid Officer at INCO Limited. He was passionate with the outdoors where he owned a house on Agnew Lake for many years and was an avid photographer in his early years. A funeral service will be held at the St-Andrews the Apostle Church (on Barrydown) in Sudbury, on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 11 am. Family will be receiving friends at church at 10:30 am.
