Died peacefully in his sleep on July 16, 2015 at the age of 95. He was a loving and caring father to three children, Vera Charles (Ray), Heidi Rodway (Michael), and Martin Regehr (Vivian), whom he raised after he was widowed when they were still young. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Tiffany Haussermann, Dylan Haussermann, and Sarah Regehr, two great-grandchildren, Dominick Haussermann and Keaton Lanktree, and his younger brother Peter Reger. A celebration of Jacob’s Life will be held on Thursday July 30, at 7:30 pm, at 523 Sabourin Rd. Sturgeon Falls, and a second memorial service will be held on August 29 at the German Evangelical Martin Luther Church in Ottawa (499 Preston St.) at 11 am, to be followed by the burial at Pinecrest Cemetery at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to World Animal Protection, a charity aligned with Jacob’s compassion for all life. (cheques only)
