The family announce with sorrow his death in Sturgeon Falls, Tuesday, April 15th 2014 at the age of 94 years. Son of the late James Gunning and of the late Isabella (née Woods) Gunning. Predeceased by his wife Hedwig Elizabeth (née Evert) Gunning. Predeceased by his children Pauline Renaud, Siegfried Rein and Linda Querbach. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Heidi Laurin (Roger), Lorraine Stanton, Kim Ananjevs (Dan), Debbie Merritt (Gord) Michael Brooks, Wolfgang Querbach, Andrew Querbach (Anna) and Norbert Rein (Janis), his great-grandchildren Jason, Candice, Zachary, Miranda (Denis), Natasha (Marcel), Skyler, Braedan, Drew, Blake, Julien and by his great-great-grandchildren Nova and Nicholas. Also survived by his brother James Gunning of Manchester, England and by his sister Isabella Cleaver of Gloucestershire, England. The family will receive friends at Théorêt Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls, Monday, April 21th 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 22nd 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Sturgeon Falls. Donations to the West Nipissing General Hospital Foundation (Cancer Services) would be appreciated (cheques only).
