My name is Sarah Demers, laurent was my pepere, my moms father. Although i did not speack french and had a hard time communicating with him, not once did he make me feel stupid or out of place. He was always there for me any time i called and needed a hand. Just in june my apartment building burnt down to the ground, and the first one to come was my pepere. He always put others first before himself so of corse when i got my new apartment he was the first one in there sweeping and mopping and arranging my furniture, which i have left exactly how he put it, to hard to move it around knowing my pepere was the one who put it that way. He always made me smile and laugh. I miss him so much, i still cant believe he wont be there to answer my calls, but i know no matter what he will always hear me because he is always with me, just like he is with all of the demers famile, watching over us. I will never forget everything my pepere did for not only me but for his family, friends, and community, because for him nothing eles was more important. He makes me want to be a better person, friend, and mom. If i can become half the person my pepere was i would be happy. I love u pepere forever and always xoxox
