The family announces with sorrow his death in Sudbury, Saturday August 16th 2014, at the age of 73 years. Son of the late Albini Meilleur and of the late Dora (née Pitre) Meilleur. Predeceased by his first wife Françoise (née Prévost) Meilleur. Beloved husband of Carmen (née Coulombe) Meilleur (Purple Heart Mother) of Noelville. Loving father of Marc Meilleur (Dorothy-Ann) of Noelville, Linda Meilleur (Jordan Christoff) of Garson, Louise Merrill-Meilleur of Texas, father to Rose Anne, Roger both of Ottawa, Denis of Noelville. Predeceased by Carmen’s son Sapeur Gilles Desmarais. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his 8 grandchildren Tim, Jason, Leanne, Daniel, Joel, Alleysha, Markus, Stefan and by his 9 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his brothers Lucien of Sudbury, Hervé (Stella) of Azilda, Réjean (late Cécile) of Sudbury, Daniel (Denise) of Crystal Falls. Predeceased by his sister Murielle Demers and by his brothers Raymond (Bernice), Conrad (late Evelyne), Ernest (Pauline of Sudbury). He will sadly be missed by all his nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Retired from INCO after 33 years of service, Marcel will forever be remembered as a community minded person. He served for over 27 years as a volunteer with the former Noelville Ambulance Service and for over 43 years as a Volunteer Fire Fighter with the French River Fire Department, retiring in 2013 as Prevention Officer. A special thank you to the staff on the 4th floor (palliative care) at Health Sciences North for their compassionate care toward Marcel and his family. The family will receive friends at the St David Parish Hall, Noelville, Wednesday August 20th 2014 from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:30. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, August 21st 2014 at 10:00 in St David Church, Noelville. Donations to the Maison Vale Hospice would be appreciated. (cheques only).
