It is with great sadness that the family announces that Onil passed away peacefully at home Thursday January 16, 2014 surrounded by his family after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Cherished husband of Juliette (Mathé) for 60 years and beloved father of Robert (Denise Delorme) from Ottawa; John – Jean-Louis (Hack) (Lori Pouliot) of North Bay; Lise-Anne (Mark Cooke) of Ottawa; Maurice (Deborah) of Sturgeon Falls. Adored grandfather to Daniel; André; Julianne; Jonathan; Christian; Josée; Martin; Caroline; Alain; Andrée-Anne; Cameron; Kristopher. Great grandfather of four - Samyha; Zachary; Tie and Winter. Wonderful older brother of Thérèse (Gérard Charbonneau); Henri-Paul (Shirley O’Keefe). Pre-deceased by parents Henri and Georgette (Dufresne) & brother Jean-Louis. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Wadhwa and the excellent team of health care professionals who were instrumental in making Onil’s last days comfortable at home. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at the Theoret Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls, Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 1:00 pm. In memory of Onil, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society will be gratefully appreciated by his family (cheques only)
