Roméo  Goulard
The family announces with sorrow his death in Sturgeon Falls, Friday, April 5th, 2013 at the age of 90 years. Son of the late Hector Goulard and the late Eva (Roy) Goulard. Predeceased by his wife Rita (Labelle) Goulard. Loving father of Yvon (Lucille), Paul (Louise), Marc (Martha), Colette (Jacques Daigle), Marcel (Mireille), René (Sylvie) and Gaëtan (Cathy). Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Najette, François, Geneviève, Charles, Josée, Roch, Julie, Dominique, France, Angèle, Sophie, Andrée-Michèle, Danielle, Francine, Zachary, Jasmine and his 22 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his brother Guy (Charlotte) from Ottawa. Predeceased by his brothers Léo, Marcel, Jean, Claude and by his sisters Lauraine and Flore Tremblay-Levesque.

Roméo Goulard was President of Goulard Lumber (1971) Ltd. founded in 1951 in partnership with his father Hector and his brother Léo. Mr. Goulard was a Knight of Columbus of the 4th degree and a member of the Richelieu Club in Sturgeon Falls. He was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 2004 for his numerous contributions toward sports for West Nipissing. He was responsible for financing the development of Goulard Park, a first class facility with lights for baseball and fast ball. He was also responsible for having financed the improvements made to the municipal football and soccer field near the Sturgeon Falls Sports complex. Also, his generous contributions were instrumental to the development of the indoor swimming pool and sports complex.

The family will receive parents and friends Friday evening May 10th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m at Théorêt Bourgeois Funeral Home in Sturgeon Falls. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday May 11th at 1:30 p.m. at Église Sacré-Coeur in Sturgeon Falls.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Au Château for their dedication and compassion towards their father.
