Lafantaisie, Yvon (1939-2016)
The family announces with sorrow his death, peacefully at home, surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren, Friday November 11, 2016 at the age of 77 years. Son of the late René Lafantaisie and of the late Ethel (née Major) Lafantaisie. Loving husband for 52 years of Irène Lafantaisie (née Giroux) of Verner. Dear father of Roger (Jane) of Georgetown and Daniel (Amanda) of Verner. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his six grandchildren Darren (Stacy), Stephanie (Gord), Jason (Alana), Morgan, Rylan and Ethan. Also cherished in the heart of his great grandson Nash. Yvon is survived by his brothers Urgel (Monique), Germain (Jocelyne) and by his sisters Lorraine Paquette (Michel), Ghislaine Bazinet (late Michel), Micheline Gaudette (Robert) and Diane Ethier (Guy). Predeceased by his brothers Rhéo, Jeannot, Robert (Juliette) and by his infant sister Laurette. A proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Yvon worked for many years as a butcher at the local Foodland in Verner. The family will receive friends at the Théoret Bourgeois Funeral Home, 2 Racette street, Verner, Tuesday November 15, 2016, from 2-4:30 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday November 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. in St. Jean Baptiste Church, Verner. Donations to the Northeastern Cancer Research Foundation would be appreciated. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Julie Breton, the Palliative Care Group and the CCAC for the excellent care and compassion shown to Yvon and his family during these difficult times.
