Saddened

Every year when we were young our parents would take a week out of the summer to go up north to a cottage to spend a week with my mom’s family, visiting our grandparents, and all the aunts, uncles, and especially our cousins which I looked forward to. It was always a pleasure to visit mon oncle Romeo and ma tante Simone, who in my eyes were like a Hollywood couple, great looking, with a wonderful (and good looking) family in every way. Although as one of the youngest in the extended family who didn’t get to know all of the older cousins as well, these were magical times with memories that are still treasured today. We knew of mon oncle’s fight with cancer decades ago and I admired his courage, keeping him in thoughts and prayers, and God blessed us all with his presence for decades more. Always friendly, kind in character, and a pleasure to chat with and simply be in his presence, I was sad to hear of his passing. Just know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers at this time.
